With the festive season approaching, the Sanbona team is preparing to make this special time of the year, even more special here in the beautiful wilderness of the Karoo! For those that have chosen to escape the hustle and bustle of Cape Town, preferring to spend this time with Mother Nature, we have lots of safari surprises waiting for you.

At the historical Tilney Manor, the team will create an impressive buffet feast with all the Christmas favourites showcased. During game drives, over certain days, a surprise is in store with bubbles abound and adding to this, a lantern-lit bush dinner will be set up at our new bush site in the gorge.

Weather permitting, a star gazing opportunity will be arranged by our Ranger Team, ending the evening with a Tilney Manor night cap!

For guests ringing in the New Year, be prepared for the Champagne to flow at the stroke of 12:00!

The Sanbona culinary offerings will be outstanding this festive season and our team of leading Chefs have been busy creating extensive menus for one and all to enjoy.

At Gondwana Family Lodge there will be a live performance on the 25th of December during dinner and on New Year’s Eve our younger guests can look forward to a unique party with movies and delicious snack platters.

Dwyka Tented Lodge will spoil guests to an evening under the stars in the magnificent boma on the 24th December where guests can indulge in traditional South African cuisine. Christmas Day will be celebrated with a toast of Champagne on the morning game drive followed by breakfast at the lodge.

A hearty buffet dinner will be served, and also hosted by the Lodge Manager, and the extensive menu will include many special highlights. For added fun and to capture this special time, there will be a photo booth to enjoy with loved ones. Carrying on the celebration, on New Year’s Day, a special sundowner performance at a unique location awaits guests staying at our three lodges to unite as one.

We look forward to welcoming you to Sanbona to share this special time with your loved ones.
