Don’t pass through Ashton without visiting Platform 62 for a well-stocked Wine Boutique with only the best wines from the area. The Shed Restaurant has a beautiful garden with a safe play area for the kids. For adventure, pop in at Farmer Redbeard – at this traditional South African fruit and grape farm, guests can enjoy the adventures and seasons of farming and living, harvesting of the fruit; making of one’s own preserves; beekeeping, hiking, swimming, mountain biking and fun tractor rides into the mountain.
And in Montagu, history buffs will enjoy a stroll through the three beautiful historical buildings Joubert House, Old Mission Church and the KWV Building Complex that comprise the Montagu Museum. Local and regional artists regularly showcase their artwork at the museum’s gallery.

Hardy’s Memories of Africa African Art and Curios offer an exquisite range of authentic African souvenirs. Ask for anything from game skins, mohair blankets, and ostrich eggs to wooden and stone carvings, musical instruments, and jewellery.
And then the famous Ronnie’s Sex Shop – but don’t be fooled by the name! This is a place to meet people from all over the world as well as locals and you must visit to find out more about the name.
The Barrydale Cellar is a perfect stop to get something to eat and include a brandy, wine or craft beer tasting.
The Magpie Gallery offers whimsical, charming and bespoke creations that are produced from a broad range of medium and often incorporate repurposed, found, memorabilia or recycled elements.
Barrydale Hand Weavers produce beautify handwoven rugs and fabrics, and the weavers are encouraged to come up with their own designs. Everything is handmade so each item has its own unique signature.
The Makers Brew is a true craft beer spot. Small, quaint and personable this brewery is what we love to stop and enjoy.
